Hunger, Despair for Millions; Obama Still Burning the Corn

-
USAToday, 3-18-11, Pg B1: Hunger, despair for millions; Food costs push many over brink. Corn has soared 52% in the past 12 months.
For about 44 million people – roughly the population of NY, LA and Chicago areas combined – the rise in food prices means a descent into extreme poverty and hunger, according to the World Bank.
-
It also increases our cost of living and impacts our economic recovery and job growth.
-
Obama’s answer: increase burning corn (ethanol) in our vehicles from 10% to 15% as a sacrifice on the alter of Al Gore and this Global Warming Alarmists.
-
This hideous policy is not only counter productive from a humanitarian view it also:
• Increases the total amount of CO2 released
• Costs more to produce than fossil fuel
• Requires large subsidies of tax dollars for support
• Reduces our profitable exports and hurts our balance of trade
-
Ever wonder why the world doesn't like us and thinks we're stupid?
-
And Obama was supposed to be the smart choice.
Just more hope and change we can believe in.
