HERZOG & DE MEURON, TEA, TENERIFE (E)SPACE FOR ARTS

Tenerife Espacio de las Artes by Herzog and de Meuron
street level entrance

crossing the street towards TEA from the Nuestra Señora de Africa Market

two young men

and the riverside entrance, a pedestrian freeway crashing into the building

up to the patio and upper exhibition space

entrance to the cafeteria and library under the bridge, or up to the patio and upstairs exhibition space up through the bridge

the cafeteria with the hanging drops/lamps by H&M

inside the library, the pixelated facade becoming manneristic details

shelves, perforations and drops

inside the library grotto

and now a modernist spiral staircase

which connects the different ramps/floors

the triangular patio upstairs

which ends with the ramp freeway

which takes us out of the building again

and the TEA seen from above, maybe the best view, where it seems to be a monolithic lava rock perforated by moving reflections...
